Omotola Jalade Ekeinde admits past aggression, reflecting on childhood struggles and how faith and maturity helped transform her life

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed that she struggled with aggression earlier in life, attributing the behaviour to personal loss and the hardships her family faced during her childhood.

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde made the disclosure in a video interview that has circulated widely on social media, offering a candid reflection on how grief and frustration shaped her personality while she was growing up.

The acclaimed actress said the death of her father during her younger years triggered deep emotional turmoil that left her struggling with anger and impatience.

“I used to be very aggressive. When I was younger, I used to have a lot of rage,” Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said.

The actress explained that although she had already embraced her Christian faith at the time, she found herself silently questioning the difficult circumstances surrounding her life.

“I think from the time I lost my dad, I couldn’t blame God because I gave my life to Christ, but inside, I was looking for someone to blame,” Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said.

According to the film star, the challenges experienced by her family after her father’s death intensified those emotions, leaving her feeling that life had treated her unfairly.

“And life just went really bad for us. I was like, it’s not fair, and I just had very little patience,” the actress added.

However, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said time, faith and personal maturity have helped her overcome the anger that once defined part of her character.

The actress noted that although traces of the emotion may surface occasionally, the feeling is now rare and something she consciously avoids.

“But I have grown, with maturity, God, and life,” Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said, adding that she dislikes the feeling whenever it resurfaces.
