Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has revealed how a challenging period in 2020 reshaped his life and career, offering insight into the Asake 2020 struggles humility story that preceded his rise to fame.

Speaking in a recent interview, the “Sungba” crooner described the year as a defining moment marked by setbacks that later became the foundation of his breakthrough in the music industry.

Asake explained that the experience taught him humility and patience, as he navigated uncertainty and disappointment during that period.

“2020 was a serious year. Life humbled me so much,” he said, reflecting on the emotional toll of that time.

He likened the experience to a sudden withdrawal of success, noting that what initially felt like loss was, in hindsight, a transformative process.

“At that time, I did not know that God was building me,” he added.

The singer noted that despite the difficulties, he released a song during that period that would later mark the beginning of his rise in the industry.

Beyond his early struggles, Asake also spoke about his ambition to expand his career internationally, particularly in the United States.

He revealed that he had long envisioned relocating to Los Angeles, where he eventually immersed himself in pursuing his musical aspirations.

“Let me just live my dream,” he said, recalling his decision to embrace opportunities abroad.

The revelation highlights a powerful turning point in Asake’s journey, underscoring how resilience and belief can transform adversity into opportunity within Nigeria’s evolving music landscape.
