Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade Asake, popularly known as Asake, has achieved another remarkable milestone by selling out his show at London’s prestigious O2 Arena for the second time.

The event took place on September 21, 2024, at the 20,000-capacity venue located in the heart of The O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London.

Currently on his ‘Lungu Boy World Tour,’ Asake delivered a memorable performance that captivated the audience. British actor Idris Elba honored him with a sold-out plaque, recognizing his impressive achievement, alongside a BRIT silver plaque for his critically acclaimed album, Work of Art.

With this latest accomplishment, Asake joins the elite ranks of Afrobeats stars like Wizkid and Davido, who have both sold out the O2 Arena multiple times. Asake previously performed at the venue last year, also to a sold-out crowd.

The dynamic performer made a grand entrance via helicopter and kept fans energized throughout the night with hit tracks such as ‘Olorun’, ‘Omo Ope’, and ‘Amapiano.’

Asake’s ongoing tour kicked off on June 20 in Portimao, Portugal, and is set to conclude on October 6 in Gold Coast, Australia. His rise to fame began in 2020 with the release of his hit song ‘Lady’.

In February 2022, he signed with YBNL Nation and launched his debut extended play, Ololade, featuring breakout tracks like ‘Omo Ope’ and the single ‘Sungba.’

Recognized for his exceptional talent, Asake has garnered numerous awards, including a recent Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance for ‘Amapiano,’ his collaboration with rapper Olamide. Additionally, he received the music prize at the 2023 Future Awards.
