Speaking on the new president, District Governor Abidoye described the Rotary Club of Ogudu GRA as a great club and expressed confidence in Odumosu’s capacity to deliver impactful leadership.
“This is a great club and their new president, Odumosu, is a good and impactful Rotarian. He has done a lot of things and I know that with his official inauguration today, he is going to perform greater exploits for the club in this Rotary year,” he said.
Chairman of the Investiture and 20th Anniversary Planning Committee, Rtn. Emmanuel Smith, described Odumosu as focused, disciplined and determined.
According to him, the new president is passionate about achieving his goals and has demonstrated a genuine desire to help others.
He added that within four months, Odumosu had helped revamp the club and introduced healthy competition among members, making them more enthusiastic about attending meetings and participating in club activities.
The Immediate Past President, Rtn. Oluwagbemileke Afolabi, also expressed confidence in the new administration, rating Odumosu “10 over 10” and describing him as a great leader and supporter.
For Odumosu, the new responsibility represents both a privilege and an opportunity to give back.
He said he felt fulfilled and humbled that the club had entrusted him with its leadership, adding that he had spent two years preparing for the role as President-Nominee and President-Elect.
One of his major priorities is a technology-focused project aimed at giving children greater access to computers and digital opportunities.
Odumosu recalled that he did not see a computer until 1993 and said the experience inspired his decision to study Computer Science.
He said the project would provide an opportunity to “pay back to the next generation” by helping children who may never have had access to computers.
The new president also pledged to restore the club’s position as one of the leading clubs in the district, with a focus on service, membership engagement and recognition.
“With the next glorious 20 years ahead of us, I know there is a lot to do, but I am ready to put the club on a better pedestal,” he said.
Born on March 3, 1978, Odumosu is a technology professional with more than 25 years of experience spanning software development, quality assurance, systems integration, IT operations, digital transformation, governance, risk and compliance, and project management.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Abuja and a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is currently Head of Information Technology/Chief Technology Officer at Optiva Capital Partners Limited.
His professional experience includes leadership roles at Access Bank, First Bank, Cars45, Digital Jewels Africa, SystemSpecs, Coronation Registrars and Global Info Swift.
A Rotarian since August 2022, Odumosu has served the Rotary Club of Ogudu GRA in several capacities, including Membership Chair, Club Assembly Coordinator, President-Nominee, member of the Investiture Committee and Vice-President/President-Elect.
His Rotary journey, however, began much earlier, in 1990, when he joined the Interact Club of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School.
As he begins his tenure, Odumosu said his ultimate motivation remains service to humanity, noting that Rotary provides an opportunity to make an impact beyond geographical boundaries.
He cited Rotary’s global fight against polio as an example of how individual contributions can improve lives in communities and countries one may never personally visit.
The 20th anniversary celebration therefore served not only as a commemoration of the Rotary Club of Ogudu GRA’s past achievements, but also as a launchpad for its next chapter under Odumosu’s leadership.
