Baba Ijesha made the claims while speaking with veteran broadcaster Yinka Ayefele on Fresh FM, where he addressed the circumstances surrounding his arrest and subsequent trial.
The Baba Ijesha rape denial interview comes years after he was convicted by a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja in July 2022 for sexual assault and indecent treatment of a child, for which he was sentenced to five years and three years imprisonment to run concurrently.
During the interview, the actor maintained that he is not a rapist or paedophile and said he was unaware of the seriousness of the allegations at the time of the incident.
He further claimed that he was invited under the guise of a movie role and believed he was participating in a staged production involving a minor.
According to him, the situation was orchestrated without his knowledge, and he only realised the full implications after his arrest and prosecution.
Baba Ijesha also alleged that food and financial incentives influenced his decision to attend the arrangement, while describing himself as someone who does not like to refuse invitations from women.
He insisted that his account of events will eventually be made public through a film project, stating that his version of the story has not yet been fully told.
The actor added that he had begun narrating his experience through creative work, including a recent musical release in which he detailed his perspective on the controversy.
