Police in Bauchi State have arrested four men over separate allegations of rape, defilement and sexual exploitation involving three girls aged 10, 11 and 12, as well as a 20-year-old woman described by the police as being of unsound mind.

The arrests followed reports from families in Ningi, Katagum, Shira and Bauchi metropolis, according to a statement issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, by the Bauchi State Police Command spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib.

The first case was reported on October 9 by a father from Gadar Maiwa village in Ningi Local Government Area.

He alleged that his neighbour, 50-year-old Musa Ibrahim, popularly known as Musa Fawa, lured his 10-year-old daughter into a guinea corn farm behind their homes and sexually abused her.

Habib said the girl was taken to General Hospital, Ningi, for a medical examination, which the police said confirmed the sexual assault.

Ibrahim was arrested and reportedly confessed to the offence, according to the statement.

In a separate incident, a father from Unguwar Makafi in Azare reported that 20-year-old Yakubu Musa, of Layin Da’u Mai Itace, allegedly lured his 11-year-old daughter into a classroom at Bakoshi Primary School.

The suspect was accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl on separate occasions in September and October 2026.

Police said the child was taken to General Hospital, Azare, for medical examination, while Musa was arrested and reportedly confessed to the allegation.

The third case was reported on October 8 by a father from Dago village in Shira Local Government Area. He alleged that 40-year-old Abdullahi Sule, a resident of the same village, had sexually abused his 12-year-old daughter.

According to Habib, subsequent investigations indicated that Sule had allegedly lured the girl on about four occasions, giving her ₦500 each time.

“The victim has been rescued and taken for medical care, while the suspect has been arrested,” the police spokesperson said.

In the fourth case, a couple reported on October 10 that their 20-year-old daughter, whom the police described as being of unsound mind, had allegedly been sexually exploited by 55-year-old John Madaki, who lives at the same address.

The couple alleged that Madaki gave their daughter ₦1,000 before having sexual intercourse with her.

Police said the suspect had been arrested and the woman taken to the Police Clinic in Bauchi for medical examination.

Reacting to the cases, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the alleged offences, describing them as abominable and inhuman.

The commissioner directed that all four cases be transferred immediately to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

The command also reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence, particularly offences involving children and vulnerable people.
