Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have lost their Gambit status after viewers voted for the secret agents to be released from their special immunity, making both contestants eligible for eviction and the N160 million grand prize.

The development was announced by Big Brother during separate diary sessions with Aikou and Flora on Monday.

The two housemates had been operating as the male and female Gambits since the first week of the ongoing season.

Their Gambit roles gave them a distinctive position in the house. While they were protected from eviction, they were initially barred from competing for the season’s N160 million grand prize.

The twist changed following the introduction of the “Operation Release the Gambit” vote during Sunday’s live eviction show.

Viewers were given the opportunity to determine whether Aikou and Flora should lose their Gambit status and return to the competition as regular housemates.

Big Brother subsequently informed Aikou that his time as a Gambit had ended.

“I would like to inform you that your time as the Gambit has come to an end. This also means that you will be up for possible eviction, just like every other housemate,” Big Brother told him.

Aikou was further reminded that his fate would now be determined by the voting public.

Flora received a similar message during her diary session.

“You have been reinstated as a full-fledged housemate. This means you can now play for the prize money,” Big Brother told her.

The announcement marked a significant change in the competition for both contestants.

As full housemates, Aikou and Flora can now compete for the N160 million prize, but the protection they previously enjoyed has also disappeared.

The pair had been selected by viewers as the season’s male and female Gambits, respectively, placing them at the centre of one of the season’s early twists.

The Gambits were designed as Big Brother’s secret agents, tasked with carrying out missions intended to influence events and dynamics within the house.

Their unusual status created a delicate balance between influence and immunity, as the two could participate in the house’s activities without facing the same immediate eviction threat as their fellow contestants.

That advantage has now ended.

For Aikou and Flora, the change presents both an opportunity and a fresh risk. They can now pursue the main prize, but they must also survive the same eviction process facing the rest of the housemates.

The development could also alter alliances and strategies as the season enters another competitive phase.

With their secret-agent roles over, Aikou and Flora will now have to build their own positions within the house and rely on viewers’ support to remain in the competition.
