Bisola Aiyeola single mother out of wedlock as actress opens up on shame, fear and acceptance after having a child outside marriage

In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she initially felt ashamed and frightened upon discovering she was pregnant outside marriage, especially given her family background.

She explained that her mother was also a single parent, which made her fear that a similar pattern might repeat in her own life and affect her daughter’s future.

“I was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and having a baby out of wedlock,” she said.

“I thought I was going to get married because I was engaged at that time but we never got married.”

Bisola added that the emotional burden was worsened by her family’s financial situation at the time, making the experience even more difficult to cope with.

She also recalled struggling with acceptance in the early stages of motherhood, including difficulties with breastfeeding, as she came to terms with her new reality.

Over time, however, the actress said she gradually embraced motherhood and began to cherish her daughter despite the circumstances surrounding her birth.
