The former governors of Akwa Ibom and Ogun, Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunle Amosun respectively, have announced their decisions to step down for the foremost All Progressives Congress aspirant and fmr Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

They both made this known during the ongoing APC convention on going in Abuja to elect the flagbearer of the ruling party in the general election in 2023 and to replace Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
