First wife of former military governor of Lagos state governor, Hajiya Zainab Marwa is dead.
Buba Marwa is currently the Chairman/Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
The death of the former Lagos governor wife was announced in a statement issued by the family on Saturday.
According to the statement, Zainab Marwa died in the early hours of the day after brief illness.
She was 66.
During her lifetime, she was a strong and vocal advocate for the cause of women and the girl child.
The deceased is survived by four adult children: Abubakar, Mohamed Jr, Mariam and Zainab, and 10 grandchildren as well as her siblings and aged mother.
The statement added that a burial arrangement will be announced at a later date by the family.
