Ezenwoke Nwosu, popularly known as Cassi, was evicted from the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house in Lagos on Sunday night, August 23, after four weeks in the “Show Ya Sef” competition, with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announcing the 27-year-old entrepreneur and actor as the only housemate to leave during the fourth live eviction show.

The eviction brought an end to Cassi’s campaign in a season that has already delivered an unusually eventful opening month, including multiple evictions, a voluntary departure and a series of twists designed to keep both housemates and viewers guessing.

Cassi was among the housemates facing possible eviction during the fourth week.

The final nomination process placed him alongside Araga, Gerard, Nomy, Tram, Sheba, Aikou, Goddessa, Temi Nkem and Yusuf, although the exact pool changed during the week as Big Brother’s powers and immunity twists reshaped the line-up.

The eventual live show added another layer of tension. Ebuka called nominated housemates to stand before revealing their fate, with Araga, Gerard and Tram experiencing particularly anxious moments before being told that they were safe.

Cassi did not receive the same reprieve.

Big Brother Naija confirmed that Cassi was the only housemate evicted during the fourth live show. Several housemates, including Nomy and Tram, became emotional when Ebuka announced that Cassi’s time in the house had come to an end.

Reflecting on his experience immediately after the eviction, Cassi acknowledged the emotional intensity of life inside the house.

“I was taking it at a pace. There are a lot of emotions at the same time, one minute you’re happy, the next minute you’re sad.”

Cassi also indicated that his departure would not mean stepping away from entertainment.

During his conversation with Ebuka, Cassi said he wanted to take his acting career more seriously, offering a glimpse of where he hopes to direct the attention generated by his BBNaija appearance.

The ambition was consistent with the identity Cassi presented when he entered the competition.

Ezenwoke Nwosu was unveiled on July 26 as the 24th and final housemate introduced for Season 11.

The Abia State native was presented as an entrepreneur and actor, while other profiles also identified him as a forex trader and highlighted his confidence, organisational ability and broad range of interests.

Before entering the house, Cassi described himself as an open book and a hustler and promised to bring energy to the competition.

His personality profile also emphasised his highly organised nature, confidence and impatience with pretence.

That self-description became part of the early narrative around his time in the house, where relationships, alliances, competition and personality clashes quickly became as important as the weekly tasks.

Cassi’s route to eviction was also shaped by the season’s evolving rules.

Earlier in the competition, Cassi had already found himself close to the eviction conversation.

During Week Two, he was initially among the housemates who received enough saves to be safe, but Head of House Sheba used her power to alter the arrangement, replacing Chimsom Chuka with Cassi on the eviction list. Cassi ultimately survived that round.

A week later, Cassi again avoided elimination after being among the housemates who secured immunity through the season’s nomination and influence mechanisms.

His eventual departure therefore represents a significant change in fortunes for a contestant who had managed to navigate the first stages of the competition without being eliminated.

The fourth week itself was particularly turbulent.

Neche Maduagwu, who had served as Head of House, voluntarily left the competition on August 16 to attend to pressing personal matters.

Her departure came shortly after Kamsy was evicted, making the week an emotional one for the remaining contestants.

The season has also introduced unusual twists around immunity and the “Gambit” concept.

Flora and Aikou were selected as Gambits and were given places through to the finale while being removed from contention for the grand prize, adding another strategic dimension to the competition.

Cassi’s exit is being described by some outlets as the fourth eviction of the season and by others as the fifth housemate to leave. The distinction comes from Neche’s voluntary departure.

Martins and Mercedes were the first two evicted on August 9, Kamsy followed on August 16, Neche subsequently left voluntarily, and Cassi became the next contestant to leave through the eviction process.

The official Big Brother Naija account and Africa Magic describe Cassi as the fifth housemate to leave the “Show Ya Sef” house, while some reports count only formal evictions and therefore call him the fourth evicted contestant.

Cassi’s departure leaves 19 housemates in the competition as Season 11 moves into its fifth week.

The remaining contestants are still pursuing a record N160 million prize package, which includes N100 million in cash and an SUV.

The season, which premiered on July 26, is scheduled to run for 10 weeks and is hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who returned for another edition of the franchise.

For Cassi, however, the immediate challenge is no longer surviving nominations or navigating Biggie’s twists. It is making the most of the visibility that came with his four-week stay.

His decision to emphasise acting after leaving the house could prove particularly significant.

Reality television often provides contestants with a sudden platform, but converting that attention into a sustainable career requires a different kind of discipline once the cameras stop rolling.

Cassi leaves the competition without the chance to pursue the N160 million prize, but his exit also closes one chapter while potentially opening another.

His four weeks in the house gave viewers an introduction to an entrepreneur and performer who arrived promising energy and left with a clearer intention to pursue acting.
