Chief Razaq Okoya refutes malicious allegations and clarifies facts on property and legal disputes involving RAO Investment Property Company Ltd
Chief Razaq Okoya, renowned industrialist and Chairman of RAO Investment Property Company Ltd, has refuted recent malicious allegations circulating in the media about him, his wife Chief (Mrs) Shade Okoya, and their company.
In a firm statement, the Okoya family described the reports as fabricated and misleading, crafted to confuse the public and malign their reputation.
The statement clarified that the issues being circulated are entirely unrelated cases, deliberately conflated to create a sensational and false narrative.

According to the family, the property at the centre of one of the disputes, a 16-unit three-bedroom block fully owned by Chief Razaq Okoya and registered under RAO Investment Property Company Ltd, was rented to Green Birch Tech Ltd for a fixed three-year term that expired on 7 June 2024.
After the lease expired, Green Birch filed a case at the High Court of Lagos (Suit No: ETD/11530/GCMW/2024).
However, the court ruled against the company on 18 February 2025, ordering it to vacate the property and pay its outstanding rent.
Rather than comply, Green Birch appealed the decision and applied for a stay of execution but has since taken no further steps to pursue the appeal. The company has allegedly continued to occupy the premises unlawfully.
In a separate matter, Dajo Oil Ltd had sued Chief Okoya in 2007 (Suit No: LD/1361/2007), a case that was struck out in July 2008.
Over a decade later, in 2021, the same company, owned by Senator Domingo Obende, refiled a case claiming that Chief Okoya borrowed 250,000 dollars, a claim described by the Okoyas as entirely false and malicious.
The family clarified that Chief Razaq and Chief (Mrs) Shade Okoya have never had any dealings with Dajo Oil or its owner.
They allege that Senator Obende conspired with Chief Okoya’s former wife, Miss Memunat Olubando, to fabricate the claim using a forged Certificate of Occupancy, which had been lawfully declared missing in 2000 and replaced with a certified true copy.
The Okoya family maintains that Green Birch is now exploiting this false claim to blackmail and evade court-ordered payments while unlawfully remaining in the property.
Reaffirming their commitment to integrity and lawful conduct, the family stated, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, silver or gold.”
