The video sparked widespread concern as the individuals claimed they were recruited as miners under false pretenses.

The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria responded swiftly, issuing a statement on Saturday expressing deep concern and promising to uncover the truth.

“The Chinese government consistently mandates that all Chinese enterprises and citizens operating abroad strictly comply with local laws,” the statement emphasized.
