Produced by the Davou brothers Joel “Jace Kim” and Abraham “Gplus Chang” the song salutes the label’s influence in shaping African hip-hop over two decades.
With sharp verses and braggadocious energy, the collaboration bridges the founding era of Chocolate City with its vibrant new generation.
Founded in the mid-2000s, the label propelled Nigerian hip-hop into the global spotlight through acts like Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and MI Abaga.
Today, with a roster including Blaqbonez, Young Jonn and Tariq, Chocolate City continues to fuel Africa’s evolving music wave.
“This collaboration captures the full spectrum of what we’ve built,” said Abuchi Peter Ugwu, CEO of Chocolate City Music.
“From the pioneers who laid the foundation to the artists currently dominating African hip-hop globally.”
The release of ‘Legacy’ also coincides with the birthdays of co-founders Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo, the visionaries behind the music empire.
Over the years, Chocolate City has grown beyond being a record label into a cultural powerhouse, with a strong footprint in talent management and creative content across Africa.
