He started by charging the two clubs to fully participate in the coming Rotary Day of Service which is celebrated every year on the 23rd of Feb world over. It is pertinent to note that it is the day Rotary was officially established by the Pioneer President, Paul Harris 1905.
Rotn. Mafutau, therefore, enjoined the guests and visitors present to count it all joy joining rotary, saying what rotary world over stands for service to humanity and the communities.
He advised that as members celebrate in February the Rotary World Peace and Conflict Resolution month, which coincides with the month of love, more emphasise should be placed on the progress of the clubs.
“We should all be one, putting aside all forms of sentiments and work for peace and progress in the clubs.”
He also reminded everyone the importance of giving to rotary, EREY ($ 100), Paul Harris ($1000) while mentioning that the district is currently magnanimously matching any member’s attempt at paying $500 for Paul Harris.
The joint meeting officially came to a close around 8pm as members danced and had fun late into the night.
The event, which was well attended by members of both clubs, took place on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the swimming side of the hotel.
