Crayon Tiwa Savage claim sparks debate as singer alleges colleague introduced him to “Backy” during early career days

Nigerian singer Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has made a striking claim involving fellow artist Tiwa Savage, alleging that the award winning singer introduced him to a substance known as “Backy” during an encounter in 2018.

Crayon, a former signee of Mavin Records, shared the revelation during a candid interview with streamer Caterefe, offering a personal account of his early days in the music industry.

Crayon stated that he had developed a strong admiration for Tiwa Savage at the time and described the moment as formative.

According to Crayon, Tiwa Savage asked whether he smoked, and upon receiving an affirmative response, handed him a blunt.

Crayon further claimed that the encounter marked the beginning of a dependency on what he described as “Backy”, a blend of substances reportedly including cannabis and prescription drugs.

Tiwa Savage claim has drawn attention across the entertainment industry, particularly given the stature of both artists.

Tiwa’s widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential female musicians, has not publicly responded to the allegation at the time of reporting.

Within the interview, Crayon maintained a reflective tone, presenting the experience as part of a broader narrative about his personal struggles and growth in the music scene.

The disclosure also highlighted the often unseen pressures faced by emerging artists navigating fame and influence.

While the remarks have sparked conversation online, industry observers note that such claims underscore the importance of accountability and support systems within the entertainment sector.
