As a revered matriarch, Dada Yar’adua was known for nurturing some of Nigeria’s most influential leaders, including Umaru Yar’adua, former President and two-time Governor of Katsina State; Shehu Yar’adua, former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s military regime; and Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
Her passing has triggered an outpouring of condolences and prayers from Nigerians, reflecting on her remarkable legacy and impact on the nation.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, paid a condolence visit to the Yar’adua family late Monday, expressing his deepest sympathies to the grieving family. The governor interrupted his official duties in Daura to extend his heartfelt condolences.
Prominent figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, have also expressed their sadness over Dada Yar’adua’s death. Atiku Abubakar, in a touching tribute, described her as a mother of multitudes, whose home was always a place of refuge.
He offered his profound condolences to the Yar’adua family, friends, and associates, and prayed for her to be granted Aljannah Firdausi.
Bukola Saraki, reflecting on his last encounter with her, praised her warmth, grace, and compassion. He joined the nation in mourning her passing, praying for her to be granted a place in Al Jannah Firdaus.
Dada Yar’adua will be remembered as a trailblazing matriarch whose influence shaped the lives of many prominent figures in Nigerian history.
