Dauda Lawal early salary payment eases financial pressure as Zamfara government approves March salaries ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebration

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the early payment of March salaries and pensions to civil servants and retirees across the state ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The announcement followed the conclusion of administrative arrangements to ensure prompt disbursement of payments to all beneficiaries.

In a statement issued on Monday in Gusau, the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Muhammad Dantawasa, confirmed that the government had finalised the process for the accelerated payment.

Muhammad Dantawasa stated that the decision aims to ease financial pressure on workers and pensioners while enabling families to prepare adequately for the Sallah festivities.

“Necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure the prompt payment of salaries and pensions to all beneficiaries across the state,” Muhammad Dantawasa said.

Governor Dauda Lawal reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, describing the initiative as part of a deliberate and compassionate policy designed to support public servants and retirees.

Dauda Lawal said the government would continue to prioritise policies that improve the well-being of civil servants and pensioners across Zamfara State.

The governor also urged workers and retirees to sustain their support for government programmes and development initiatives.

“We call on all civil servants and pensioners to continue supporting government policies and to pray for peace, unity, and sustained development in Zamfara State,” Dauda Lawal said.

The Zamfara State Government concluded the announcement by extending festive greetings to civil servants, pensioners, and residents, wishing them a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Several state governments across Nigeria have recently adopted similar measures.

Authorities in Kano and Kogi states have also approved early salary payments to enable workers to celebrate the Muslim festival without financial strain.
