Daula building collapse: 1 dies, 3 scavengers rescued

The police in Kano State have confirmed the trapping of four scavengers under the debris of the demolished Daula Hotel building, on Murtala Mohammed road, in the Metropolis.

The commissioner of police, CP Muhammad Usaini Gumel told newsmen at the site of the incident on Thursday. Gumel said three of those trapped were rescued alive, while one person was confirmed dead.

‘’When we heard about this unfortunate incident this afternoon, we have to rush here to see the situation of things and how to control it, ‘’Gumel said.

‘’You can see KNUPDA managing director, Fire Servicemen, SEMA and NEMA officials trying to rescue victims still under the rubbles. The MD KNUPDA after the rescue mission moved to the Eid ground where he informed the press that the state government is doing everything possible.
