Davido made the revelation during an interview, where he reflected on his privileged upbringing and early passion for music.
The singer explained that he was raised in an affluent environment, surrounded by luxury, including expensive cars, frequent holidays, and designer items, but remained deeply focused on his musical ambitions.
Davido recalled living in a large family home with up to 20 bedrooms, noting that such comfort never distracted him from his goal of becoming a successful artist.
Despite access to wealth, Davido said his interest in music developed at an early age and quickly became an obsession that shaped his life decisions.
He further revealed that his determination led him to leave home for nearly a year after disagreements with his father, who wanted him to prioritise education.
During that period, Davido said he lived with a friend in a modest one-bedroom apartment, a stark contrast to his upbringing, but one that strengthened his resolve to pursue music.
The experience, he added, reinforced his belief that his career path was driven by purpose rather than privilege.
