Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, issued a striking political warning against Senator Francis Fadahunsi and House of Representatives member Oluwole Oke in an online exchange following the recent Osun State governorship election.
Davido made the comment on X after a user, @Tobiloba_, suggested that Fadahunsi and Oke had performed well enough to return to the National Assembly.

The singer quoted the post and responded with four emphatic words: “Not with me alive.”
The brief response quickly gained traction online, adding a fresh dimension to the political rivalry surrounding Osun State.
Fadahunsi represents Osun East Senatorial District, while Oke represents the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Both politicians are members of the All Progressives Congress.
The latest remarks came just days after the 15 August Osun governorship election, in which Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, contested for another term on the Accord Party platform against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
Fadahunsi and Oke were prominent figures in the APC campaign. Oke served as the party’s Director-General for the governorship campaign and had publicly expressed confidence in the party’s prospects before the election.
The political contest had been particularly intense, with both sides trading accusations and counter-accusations during the campaign.
In July, Adeleke called for economic sanctions and visa restrictions against several APC figures, including Fadahunsi and Oke, over allegations relating to political violence.
The accusations were made by Adeleke’s administration and were part of the wider political confrontation before the poll.
Oke also became the subject of a reported assassination attempt in July. Police said three suspects were paraded in connection with the alleged plot, while the APC commended the police for what it described as a timely intervention.
Adeleke’s campaign organisation subsequently called for greater scrutiny of the police account.
The dispute also has a direct bearing on the 2027 elections. Fadahunsi has already secured the APC ticket for Osun East after polling 23,593 votes at the party’s senatorial primary in May.
Oke’s route back to the House has also been politically complicated. Reports initially indicated that he had been disqualified during the APC screening process over zoning concerns, although subsequent reporting showed his name among the party’s declared candidates for the Obokun/Oriade constituency.
Fadahunsi and Oke joined the APC after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, alongside other serving Osun lawmakers.
Their move was part of a significant realignment of political forces in the state ahead of the 2026 governorship contest and the 2027 general elections.
Davido has remained closely involved in Osun politics because of his family connection to Adeleke.
His public support for his uncle has been particularly visible during election campaigns, making his latest intervention more politically significant than an ordinary celebrity reaction.
However, Davido’s statement does not itself determine whether either lawmaker can contest or return to the National Assembly.

Their political future will ultimately depend on party nominations, electoral rules and the outcome of the 2027 elections.
Neither Fadahunsi nor Oke had publicly responded to the singer’s comment at the time of reporting.
