Delta mobile court convicts 16 for sanitation violations

Delta State mobile court convicts 16, issues 12 warrants for violating environmental sanitation laws to maintain a clean Asaba Capital Territory

The Delta State Capital Territory Mobile Court, under the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, has convicted 16 offenders for breaching environmental sanitation laws.

The offenders were prosecuted by Isaac Nwosu, who led enforcement against individuals and establishments violating sanitation regulations in the capital territory.

Four defendants were discharged, while bench warrants were issued for 12 who failed to appear in court.

Notable among the cases was Chuzz4 Apartment and Suites, accused of discharging wastewater into public drainage, a violation of environmental laws posing health risks.

Patrick Ukah emphasized the agency’s ongoing commitment to enforcing environmental laws and called on residents and businesses to comply to ensure Asaba remains clean and sustainable

The DSCTDA vowed that enforcement would continue and that offenders would face prosecution to uphold public health and sanitation standards.
