Delta State Governor honours Julius Rone at 51 as he celebrates his FLNG achievements and economic contributions to Nigeria and the state

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Delta State Governor honours Julius Rone in a message that underscores his groundbreaking achievements in the oil and gas sector and national service.

In a statement released in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described Rone, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UTM FLNG Limited, as a visionary leader whose investments continue to elevate Nigeria’s energy sector.

“Through diligence, resilience, and unwavering determination, you pioneered the establishment of UTM FLNG Limited, Nigeria’s first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility—a groundbreaking achievement for our nation,” the governor said.

Known as “The Gas King,” Rone is credited with pioneering Nigeria’s first FLNG project, an initiative that is positioning the country for future global energy competitiveness.

The governor said the Delta State honours Julius Rone recognition is not only a personal celebration but also a moment of pride for the entire state.

“On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Delta State, I extend warm congratulations to my brother and friend, Mr Julius Rone, OFR, on the occasion of his 51st birthday. I join your family, friends, and associates in celebrating your life of excellence, service, and patriotic devotion.”

Governor Oborevwori urged local entrepreneurs to emulate Rone’s patriotic zeal and business leadership, stressing that his dedication remains a source of pride and inspiration for both the state and the country.

He concluded by praying for continued success, sound health, and many more years of meaningful service to humanity and to God.
