‘Does it worth it?’ Indigene gives 20 tips on safe-travel to northern Nigeria

As the state of insecurity continues to depreciate in Nigeria and the security operatives seem overwhelmed, many citizens are beginning to take the issue of the safety of lives and properties into their hands.

It is no longer news that terrorists, kidnappers and hoodlums have taken over some section of the north and running amok, attacking communities and major roads, hence, forcing Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers and dishing out safety tips to stay safe.

A twitter user, @Murtalaibin, stated that not leaving early or late hours is one of the best ways to have a safe travel.

⚠️ Northern Nigeria inter-state travel tips:
1. Don’t leave too early or in the late hours.

2. Dress light for easy running or camping after capture.

3. Don’t wear expensive clothes and jewellery.

4. Get latest Intel on route and flash points.

5. Be vigilant and observant

10. Driver and passengers should focus on the road.

11. Observe the movement on the other lane. (very important).

12. Be calm and ready to make a timely judgement.

13. If you can, avoid displaying materials that are affiliated with security agencies.
