Contrary to speculation, Dr. Tinuade Sanda has not been dismissed but rather reassigned within the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).
Dr. Sanda, along with all other management staff, has undergone redeployment following a directive issued by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The NERC directive comes in response to the persistent issue of ghost workers within EKEDC, prompting a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
As a result, the secondment arrangement previously in place has been discontinued, granting EKEDC the autonomy to directly employ its management team based on its own discretion.
According to information made available to Freelanews, this restructuring initiative is primarily aimed at fostering greater accountability and transparency within EKEDC’s operations.
By allowing the company to have more control over its staffing decisions, the NERC directive seeks to streamline organizational processes and eliminate inefficiencies associated with the ghost worker phenomenon.
Furthermore, NERC has vested EKEDC with the authority to enforce disciplinary measures against any staff found to be involved in the ghost workers scandal.
The specific details regarding the redeployment process and further measures are yet to be disclosed to the public.
