New emails detail the Epstein Kaaba Kiswa purchase, revealing how sacred Kaaba coverings were shipped to his Caribbean residence
Jeffrey Epstein, the late American financier and convicted sex offender, received pieces of the Kaaba Kiswa, Islam’s most sacred cloth, after they were purchased and shipped from Saudi Arabia to his private residence in St. Thomas, according to internal emails detailing the transaction.

The emails, dated March 2017, show that Aziza Al-Ahmadi, a Saudi woman based in the United Arab Emirates, explained the religious significance of the Kaaba covering to Epstein before delivery.
In a message sent on 22 March 2017, Aziza Al-Ahmadi wrote that the cloth had been touched by “a minimum of 10 million Muslims” during tawaf and carried their prayers, tears and hopes.
Records indicate that the final delivery was made to Jeffrey Epstein through LSJE LLC, a company linked to his Caribbean properties.
The Kaaba Kiswa pieces were reportedly intended for use as carpets inside his St. Thomas home.
Daphne Wallace, an associate of Epstein, coordinated the delivery arrangements, while Abdullah Al-Maari handled coordination on the Saudi side of the transaction.
Logistics, customs clearance and transport were managed by Stauffer, according to the correspondence.
The Epstein Kaaba Kiswa purchase has triggered outrage online and renewed scrutiny of how sacred Islamic artefacts can leave Saudi Arabia, where the Kaaba is located in the holy city of Makkah.
The Kaaba Kiswa is traditionally replaced annually, with old coverings tightly controlled by Saudi authorities due to their religious value.
Saudi Arabia has not issued an official statement on the matter. However, religious scholars and observers say the kingdom is likely to distance itself from the transaction, stressing that the sale or private ownership of Kaaba coverings contradicts their sanctity and established protocols.

The revelation adds another disturbing dimension to Epstein’s legacy, highlighting how wealth and influence may have enabled access to objects of profound religious importance, with little regard for their meaning to millions of worshippers worldwide.
