District 9112 launches the Family of Rotary Funfair with games, prizes and activities to strengthen fellowship across the Rotary community

Rotary District 9112 Governor, Rtn. Lanre Adedoyin, on Thursday announced the launch of the Family of Rotary Funfair, confirming that members, families and friends across District 9112 will compete for a series of prizes in one of the district’s most anticipated fellowship events.

Governor Adedoyin said the initiative, organised by the Family of Rotary Committee, aims to deepen unity within clubs while promoting an inclusive environment for participants of all ages.

The Family of Rotary Funfair is positioned as a flagship activity in the district’s annual engagement calendar.

Committee representatives explained that activities have been structured into categories for children, Rotarians and adults, as well as Rotaractors, ensuring broad participation.

They noted that games such as football, sack race, egg race, snooker, table tennis, tug of war and bottle flip have been prepared to stimulate both friendly rivalry and community bonding.

Children will have access to a dedicated entertainment zone featuring a family walk, football contests, fashion parades, playful challenges, soapy soccer, bouncing castles, train rides and Father Christmas attractions.

Rotaractors will equally take part in football, board games, water splash competitions and the X and O challenge.

To encourage creativity, the committee has introduced a range of recognition categories, including Best Decorated Canopy, Most Beautiful Club Attire, Best Dressed Rotarian and Club March Past honours. Organisers said these awards would amplify the funfair’s celebratory atmosphere while spotlighting the district’s vibrant club culture.

Committee members described the event as a powerful platform for strengthening fellowship and rebuilding inter-club relationships, stressing that the funfair presents an opportunity for clubs to reconnect beyond formal meetings.

The organisers added that the Family of Rotary Funfair is expected to attract a large turnout as District 9112 continues to prioritise unity, family inclusion and community spirit.

The event will be held at Police College, Ikeja GRA on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10 am.
