In a post shared on his official X handle on Sunday, Otedola described the refinery as the “eighth wonder of the world” following a visit to the facility.

“Today 15 February 2026, I visited the Dangote Refinery, what I call the 8th wonder of the world,” he wrote.

Otedola further disclosed that upon completion of the expansion project, the refinery’s production capacity is expected to increase to 1.4 million barrels per day.

“After successful completion of this expansion project, capacity will increase to 1.4m barrels per day … F.Ote 💲,” he added.

The commendation comes after the refinery’s management announced that it had reached its full nameplate capacity of 650,000 barrels per day following the restoration and optimisation of its Crude Distillation Unit and Motor Spirit production block.
