The Foundation for Ethical Society & Cultural Awareness (FESCA) launches a nationwide initiative to promote ethics, civic responsibility, and cultural renewal across Nigeria

The Foundation for Ethical Society & Cultural Awareness (FESCA) has formally been introduced to the Nigerian public as a new non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting ethical transformation and cultural renewal nationwide.

FESCA is non-political, non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-tribal, and non-religious, focusing on advancing integrity, civic responsibility, and strong ethical values in Nigerian society.

“Many of Nigeria’s challenges stem from a deep-rooted societal and cultural crisis, rather than solely a leadership problem. Leadership emerges from society itself,” FESCA stated.

The organisation promotes a bottom-up strategy, encouraging Nigerians at all levels to embrace integrity, patriotism, accountability, and responsible citizenship in daily life.

Key initiatives include:

  • Integrity and Ethical Brigades Recruiting and training young Nigerians as ambassadors of ethical values in communities and institutions.
  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Nationwide programmes via TV dramas, movies, radio jingles, documentaries, newspapers, books, and community outreach to strengthen ethical consciousness.
  • Collaborations: Working with civil society organisations, educational institutions, market associations, community leaders, and security agencies to enhance civic responsibility.

FESCA emphasises that national transformation requires collective responsibility, urging ordinary citizens, professionals, traders, public officials, and political leaders to actively uphold ethical standards.

“Too often, Nigerians place the blame solely on political leaders. Lasting change will occur only when every citizen accepts personal responsibility for doing what is right for Nigeria,” the foundation added.

Acknowledging that cultural transformation is a long-term process, FESCA expressed confidence that sustained engagement, public education, and national participation will lead to meaningful societal change.

The foundation calls on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, media houses, civil society organisations, and friends of Nigeria to support this movement for ethical and cultural renewal.
