Ewhrudjakpo death draws condolences from Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who describes the Bayelsa deputy governor’s passing as a monumental loss
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday condoled with Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, over the death of Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

Siminalayi Fubara, in a statement personally signed and released in Port Harcourt, described the Ewhrudjakpo death as a monumental loss to Bayelsa State and Rivers State.
Siminalayi Fubara said the late deputy governor was a man of rare calibre whose public service record reflected intellect, humility, and commitment to governance.
Siminalayi Fubara extended condolences on behalf of the Rivers State Government and its people, describing the loss as one that resonated beyond state borders.
The Rivers governor said Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo was a stabilising force in the Bayelsa administration and a beacon of hope to his constituents.
Siminalayi Fubara noted that the deputy governor’s passing created a profound vacuum within government and among those he served.
He urged Senator Douye Diri to find strength and resolve to lead Bayelsa State through the difficult period.
Siminalayi Fubara also prayed for the Ewhrudjakpo family and the people of Bayelsa State, asking for grace to sustain the late official’s legacy.
Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo reportedly died on Thursday after collapsing at the Government House in Yenagoa.
The Peoples Democratic Party confirmed the death in a statement issued on Thursday night by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong.

The party said its National Working Committee and members nationwide were in profound grief over the loss.
