FUE Kontagora stabbing leaves a student dead after a campus altercation, prompting police investigation and calls for improved security
A student of the Federal University of Education Kontagora was fatally stabbed during a celebration for newly admitted students in the early hours of Thursday, in a tragic incident that has shaken the campus community.

Kontagora stabbing occurred around 1:40 a.m. inside the school hall, following a misunderstanding between two students, according to confirmation from the Nigeria Police Force through its spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun.
The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Seyi Simon, was reportedly involved in a dispute with 18-year-old Jafar Musa from the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontagora. The altercation escalated, resulting in Musa allegedly stabbing Simon with a dagger.
Emergency efforts were made to save the victim, who was rushed to the General Hospital in Kontagora. Medical personnel confirmed him dead on arrival.
Police authorities stated that the suspect is currently in custody while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police have also urged students and members of the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course.
The tragic event has sent shockwaves across the university community, drawing attention to concerns about security at campus gatherings and the need for stronger preventive measures during student events.
