The distributor described the feat as historic and unprecedented in West African cinema.

According to FilmOne, Behind The Scenes is the fastest film in West Africa to gross over ₦1 billion.

The movie also recorded the highest single-day box office gross ever on Boxing Day.

It earned ₦129.5 million in one day.

“Fastest film in West Africa to cross ₦1B+,” FilmOne stated.

It added that the film delivered “the highest single-day gross ever on Boxing Day (₦129.5M).”

FilmOne also revealed that the movie is now the highest-grossing theatrical release of 2025 so far.

The distributor said the film has maintained strong momentum weeks after its cinema debut.

FilmOne further highlighted Funke Akindele’s record-breaking run at the Nigerian box office.

It described her as “the only director to cross ₦1B+ at the box office three different times.”

She was also named “Nollywood’s highest-grossing producer of all time.”

The distributor added that Akindele is the first filmmaker to deliver three consecutive ₦1 billion films in one calendar year.

“This win is for all of us,” FilmOne said while thanking audiences for their support.

PUNCH Online earlier reported that the film grossed ₦512 million within 12 days of release.

At the time, it became the highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2025.

The movie held advance screenings on December 10 and 11.

It officially opened in cinemas nationwide on December 12.

The film crossed ₦200 million within days of release.

FilmOne earlier described its performance as the biggest opening weekend of 2025.

It also set records for weekend admissions and box office revenue.

Behind The Scenes explores the theme of black tax.

It focuses on the social and financial pressures of supporting extended family members.

The storyline has resonated strongly with cinema audiences.

The film stars Scarlet Gomez in the lead role.
