Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Justus Olugbenga Daniel congratulated Hon. Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu on his conferment as Gbademu of Owu Kingdom, describing the honour as a powerful recognition of service and leadership.

Otunba Daniel, who holds the traditional title of Aare Ajibosin of Owu Kingdom, commended the conferment carried out by His Royal Majesty, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, noting that the decision reflects the enduring values and cultural depth of the ancient kingdom.

In a personally signed message, the former governor praised Hon. Adebutu’s track record, stating that the elevation crowns years of commitment to community development and public service.

“The honour is a fitting recognition of his distinguished contributions, sterling character and unwavering dedication to the Owu people,” Otunba Daniel said.

The Gbenga Daniel hails Adebutu’s prestigious Owu title at a time when traditional institutions across Ogun State continue to play a vital role in shaping social cohesion and identity.

Observers note that such honours often bridge modern political influence with cultural authority, reinforcing legitimacy within local communities.

Otunba Daniel, speaking alongside his wife, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, expressed confidence that the new Gbademu would bring renewed energy and wisdom to the role.

The former governor added that Hon. Adebutu’s leadership qualities would further strengthen unity and progress within the kingdom.

The ceremony also recognised Hon. Adebutu’s wife, Yeye Adenike Omolola Adebutu, who was conferred with the title of Yeye Gbademu, marking a significant dual honour for the family.

The gesture stood out as a symbolic moment, reflecting the inclusive traditions of the Owu people.

Hon. Adebutu, a prominent political figure in Ogun State and a former governorship candidate, has remained influential in regional politics and grassroots mobilisation.

The conferment is widely seen as reinforcing his standing both within traditional circles and the broader political landscape.

Otunba Daniel concluded by expressing optimism that the new role would usher in a transformative phase of service.

“I have no doubt that this will mark the beginning of an even greater chapter of impact and dedication,” he said.

The development adds to a series of recent honours within the Owu Kingdom, where the monarchy has continued to celebrate individuals whose achievements have brought distinction to the community and to Ogun State at large.
