Private Ogunleye had accused a senior officer of misconduct, but according to General Musa, these claims were found to be false after medical and procedural assessments were completed.

Speaking on the case, General Musa emphasised the military’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and the seriousness with which such cases are handled.

“The military takes the welfare of its personnel seriously, and we do not shield any erring officers. When Private Ruth Ogunleye made her claims, we conducted a full investigation and referred her to the medical department, following established procedures,” the General said.

The investigation’s conclusion, based on medical assessments, revealed that Private Ogunleye was suffering from mental instability.

“What she accused the Colonel of never happened,” General Musa asserted, putting an end to the matter.
