Headies has no sense, Tacha advocates for boycott by Nigerian bloggers (Video)

Popular Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Tacha has lashed out at the organisers of the renowned Headies Awards for hosting their prestigious event in the United States instead of Africa, particularly Nigeria.

Expressing her discontent on social media, Tacha stated that no local bloggers should cover the Headies Awards campaigns due to this seemingly controversial decision. The reality star questioned why the largest music award show in Africa would opt to hold their ceremony abroad consecutively.

Tacha went further to criticize the move, labeling it as a “slave mentality.”

Her strong words raised eyebrows across the Nigerian entertainment industry as fans and critics alike voiced their opinions on social media platforms.

The Headies Awards, organized by Hip Hop World Magazine, has been a prominent platform for recognizing and celebrating musical talents in Africa for over a decade. The event has traditionally been held in Nigeria, providing an opportunity to showcase the country’s vibrant music scene and cultural heritage to a global audience.

The 16th edition of the award ceremony that celebrated Afrobeats and African culture took place on Sunday at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta.

The show, tagged ‘Celebrating African Renaissance,’ saw A-list artistes from the continent of Africa converge to celebrate the creativity of Pan-African talent and the event honors the best in Afrobeats.

However, the recent decision to shift the awards ceremony outside Africa has triggered a debate within the entertainment community.
