Ilebaye’s father has spoken publicly after the viral family altercation involving the BBNaija reality star in Abuja

The father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has publicly addressed the viral altercation involving his daughter, claiming he was provoked before the confrontation escalated at their residence in Abuja.

In a voice note circulating online and reportedly shared on Facebook on Sunday by Kogi-based journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme, Emmanuel Odiniya denied allegations that the incident stemmed from hatred towards his daughter.

Emmanuel Odiniya described Ilebaye as one of his “best children” and said he made significant sacrifices to support her emergence as winner of the BBNaija All Stars edition.

According to him, he mobilised influential contacts and supporters to secure votes during her stay in the reality television house.

The emotional controversy has generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the family dispute.

Ilebaye’s father alleged that their relationship deteriorated after the reality star won the competition, accusing her of becoming distant and disrespectful.

He claimed that despite booking several appointments for her weekly, she often ignored him and no longer treated him as her father.

Emmanuel Odiniya also criticised his daughter’s alleged lifestyle choices, including cosmetic enhancement procedures, which he said he had advised her against because of her age.

The father further alleged that the reality television star had physically attacked him on previous occasions.

Speaking on the latest incident, he claimed Ilebaye assaulted him first before the confrontation escalated, alleging that he sustained injuries during the heated exchange.

He also accused his daughter of failing to support him financially despite his health challenges and need for medical treatment abroad.

In another startling allegation, Emmanuel Odiniya claimed his daughter negatively influenced her younger brother and interfered in family matters involving her parents’ marriage.

Despite the accusations, he maintained that he still loved his daughter and desired reconciliation.

He added that police officers had intervened and settled the matter.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that Ilebaye Odiniya, alongside members of her family, including her father and younger brothers, were hospitalised following the confrontation.

The incident drew public attention after the reality star shared an emotional livestream video appealing for help, triggering concern among fans and followers.

Confirming the development, spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, disclosed that all parties involved sustained injuries and were receiving medical treatment.

Josephine Adeh also stated that the siblings were under police protective custody while investigations continued into the incident.
