On Saturday, the tenant, who had just moved into the one-room apartment, was seen cleaning her space. She reportedly interacted with the children, claiming she liked them and wanted to spend time with them.

After spending several hours with the children, she left with them, claiming she was taking them to buy something.

Funke Komolafe, the mother of one of the missing children, said that the woman’s departure raised suspicions when neighbors saw her leaving with the kids.

The woman told the onlookers she was heading to buy something for the children. She then boarded a motorcycle with them, but her whereabouts remain unknown.

Itunu Joseph, the mother of the second child, detailed the sequence of events, stating that the woman had pretended to be tired and had sat in the backyard playing with the children before disappearing with them.

Despite efforts to trace her, including checking with the motorcycle rider who transported her, the children and the woman have not been found.

Joseph described the suspect as a young woman, aged between 17 and 20, with fair skin, a low haircut, and fixed nails. She did not provide her name during her brief stay.

The incident was reported to the police and the Osun State Amotekun Corps. Commander Adekunle Omoyele confirmed that efforts are underway to locate the suspect and the missing children.

The case underscores the need for vigilance and thorough verification in rental transactions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
