Nollywood bigwigs, Lanre Hassan, Dele Odule and Toyin Adegbola, were among dignitaries present during the installation of Rotarian Aiyemidun Adejumoke Ikupolati as the 59th President of Rotary Club of Ibadan.
The event which held under strict compliance with COVID-19 precautionary measures at the clubhouse in Ibadan also had in attendance members of Rotary Club within and outside Ibadan and Oyo State.
Mrs Lanre Hassan, who happens to be the mother of the newly-installed president, while speaking with Tribune Online, prayed for a successful tenure for her daughter, while also seeking the cooperation of board and other members of the club for her.
Ikupolati, while reading her acceptance speech promised to do her best following the footsteps of past presidents of the club.
“As I stand before you today, I am indeed honoured to be given the opportunity to serve in this capacity and you have my sincere assurance that I will be dedicated to the cause of Rotary the same way I have demonstrated over the past few years since I was first inducted into the membership of Rotary Club of Ibadan.”
She further said: “I would like to acknowledge the contributions of the immediate past President, Alhaji Mukaila Sodimu, who is now deceased and other presidents before him for their hard work and the encouragements I have enjoyed,” she concluded.
