More than 400 households in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State, received food assistance as JMG Limited partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to mark World Food Day and support families facing food insecurity.
The outreach, held on October 17, 2026, was organised under the Temporary Food Assistance Programme (TEFAP), providing essential food supplies to vulnerable households and helping ease the pressure of meeting daily nutritional needs.

For JMG Limited, a company focused on power and electromechanical solutions, the initiative provided an opportunity to extend its community-focused efforts beyond its core business and contribute directly to the wellbeing of families.
Activities began at the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s headquarters, where members of JMG’s leadership team and staff joined volunteers to package food items for distribution.
The team was received by the organisation’s Executive Director, Dr Michael Sunbola, alongside Samita Keshinro, Muame Agbosi, other staff members and volunteers. The JMG team also toured the facility before proceeding to Majidun for the community outreach.
The event commenced with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative pledge, reinforcing the shared commitment of both organisations to supporting vulnerable households and addressing food insecurity.

Speaking at the event, JMG’s Chief Operating Officer, Christian G. Kozma, highlighted the importance of supporting women and recognising their contributions to society.
“Today, we are supporting communities in Ikorodu as part of the World Food Day celebration, with the goal of reaching more than 400 women,” Kozma said.
He noted that women occupy important roles across society and within JMG, adding that the outreach reflected the company’s commitment to supporting women and their advancement.
JMG’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, said addressing hunger requires collective action from individuals, businesses and communities.
“At JMG, we believe in empowerment, care and shared responsibility. It is a source of pride to contribute to putting food on the tables of families who need support,” she said.
Ibeziako stressed that hunger remains a pressing concern and urged more individuals and organisations to contribute to efforts aimed at reducing its impact on vulnerable families.
Dr Sunbola commended JMG for partnering with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to provide direct support to families at the community level.
He said hundreds of families received food boxes capable of supporting a family of five for more than two to three weeks.
“At a time when many struggling families do not know where their next meal will come from, this gesture by JMG brings hope, relief and joy,” Sunbola said.
He expressed appreciation to JMG for supporting vulnerable women and families through the initiative.
For beneficiaries, the intervention provided welcome relief amid the pressure of feeding their households.

One beneficiary, Morenike Adigun, expressed gratitude to JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for remembering women in the community.
She said the food supplies would help families provide meals while easing some of the financial pressure associated with household feeding.
The Baale of Majidun Community, Chief Alex Olusegun Omoyele, also appreciated JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for bringing the intervention to residents.
The partnership demonstrates how corporate social responsibility can translate into practical support for communities facing everyday challenges.
