The Joy Tambou appointment AGN was confirmed during the formal inauguration of President Sanusi’s executive team in Abuja, where the outgoing President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Chief Ejezie Emeka Rollas, OON, administered the oath of office to the new leadership.
Joy Tambou was inaugurated alongside other members of the president’s inner executive team, often described as the kitchen cabinet, as the guild formally transitioned into a new administration.
Speaking after the ceremony, Joy Tambou expressed gratitude to President Sanusi, the Secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ambassador Ifeoma Okeke, and the entire executive council for the confidence placed in her.
Joy Tambou said the role would be approached with discipline and professionalism, pledging to work closely with the elected leadership to ensure order, excellence, respect and seamless representation of the guild at all official engagements.
The actress and producer said her priority would be unity and collaboration across the Nigerian acting community, adding that the administration’s direction reflected a powerful commitment to service, impact and shared progress rather than internal division.
Joy Tambou noted that strengthening welfare, professionalism and the global relevance of Nigerian actors would remain central to her work as Chief Protocol, describing the new leadership as visionary and people focused.
Beyond her new administrative role, Joy Tambou is widely recognised for her contributions to Nollywood as both a producer and performer.
Her film credits include Tattered, The Other Side, Tangled Heart, Caught on the Net, Bliss of Kamara, Unexpected Love, Palmwine Tapper, Seven Daughters, Expensive Bachelor, Drink My Tears, When a Child Cry and 3 Days Burial.
