Jude Onouha arrested as Lagos fake security gang leader. Police uncover syndicate using fake uniforms and car jack as firearms to raid estates

The 46-year-old alleged kingpin and his gang reportedly wore fake uniforms and carried a Mercedes-Benz car jack crafted to resemble a firearm.

Under the guise of conducting security checks, they deceived estate guards and gained entry into several high-end communities across Lagos.

Once inside, the syndicate targeted luxury vehicles including Toyota Hilux, Toyota Highlander, Lexus 650, Mercedes-Benz, and other SUVs.

Police investigations revealed that the gang systematically vandalised the cars, stealing expensive components such as brainboxes, wiring systems, side mirrors, tapping glasses, and control devices.

Onouha has since corroborated his role in the crimes and is assisting detectives with ongoing investigations.

Items recovered from him include the modified car jack and a face cap marked “Special Force,” which he used as part of his disguise. Police confirmed that efforts are underway to track down other members of the syndicate.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has urged residents and estate managers to remain vigilant, advising that no one should be granted access under the guise of security checks without verification through the local Divisional Police Officer.

He further encouraged the public to use the Command’s emergency hotlines—08063299264, 09053872208, 08087332678—for swift intervention whenever suspicious individuals are spotted.

Authorities emphasised that community vigilance, cooperation with the police, and timely reporting will play a decisive role in curbing similar criminal threats across Lagos.
