Nollywood actress Judy Austin advises women to be intentional in marriage, highlighting social media as a major source of marital problems

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Judy Austin has shared advice for women, emphasising the importance of being intentional in marriage.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, February 17, the actress urged women to actively nurture their relationships, warning that many couples fail because they prefer playing the victim rather than being purposeful with their partners.

“You must be intentional with your partner if you want a happy marriage. Most people rather play victim than be intentional with their partners. And I mean intentional in every aspect of your lives,” Austin wrote.

She also highlighted social media as a major challenge for marriages today, adding, “The worst part is they don’t even know.”

The advice comes days after her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, shared loved-up throwbacks and addressed claims that their marriage ended due to his financial status.

Obasi stated that nothing a man does can stop a determined woman from leaving.

Austin’s comments received mixed reactions on social media, with some users referencing her past marriages while others supported her insights.

She also warned her fans against taking extreme actions in her defence, particularly against creating or sharing disturbing content wishing harm on others.

Austin’s message underscores the role of intentionality, communication, and awareness of social media’s influence in sustaining healthy marriages.
