Katsina building collapse kills six family members during heavy rainfall. The tragedy, confirmed by SEMA, has left the Dankama community in mourning
Katsina building collapse turned tragic early Tuesday morning as a mother and her five children died when their home crumbled during a heavy downpour in Dankama Local Government Area.

The collapse occurred around 2 a.m. while the family was asleep. Muhammad Sani, the bereaved husband and father, confirmed the devastating incident to reporters in Katsina.
“This affected about 10 people, but sadly, six didn’t survive,” he said, visibly shaken. Three others are being treated at the hospital for injuries.
The deceased were identified as Mariya Sani (45) and her children Mujahid (20), Zahariya (18), Hauwa (15), Amira, and Nura (5).
The heartbreaking event has plunged the local community into mourning. Neighbours and sympathisers have visited the Sani family’s home to offer condolences and emotional support.
“I surrender to Allah’s will. May He grant them eternal rest,” Sani said.

The Katsina State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the incident and has dispatched officials to assess the damage and console the family.
