Kebbi State Police neutralized a suspected bandit in Bagudo LGA, recovered arms and ammunition, while efforts continue to apprehend an injured accomplice
Kebbi State Police Command has neutralized a suspected armed bandit and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in Bagudo Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, said operatives of the Police Special Tactical Squad intercepted an unregistered motorcycle carrying two suspected bandits during a routine patrol at around 9:00 p.m. on February 4, 2026.
“The suspects opened fire on our operatives, prompting a gun duel. One suspect was neutralized during the exchange, while the second suspect fled with gunshot injuries,” Usman stated.
Recovered items included 586 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, three magazines, a camouflage uniform, a military-style bag, two mobile phones, N404,500 in cash, and the unregistered motorcycle used by the suspects.

Commissioner of Police Umar Mohammed Hadeija reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to provide credible information to support ongoing security operations.
