Victoria Ariyo, who served under the Abeokuta South Local Government Area, reportedly died from complications after an attempted abortion.
Sources say Ariyo had a romantic relationship with Abass Olalekan, the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of the NYSC, which led to the pregnancy.
Olalekan was arrested and arraigned on Monday before Magistrate A.K. Araba on a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempt to procure abortion.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of N500,000.
Adesanya, who allegedly supplied drugs to Ariyo to terminate the pregnancy, was arraigned on Thursday on a four-count charge, including conspiracy, attempted abortion, and murder.
The charge sheet states that the offences occurred between January and March 2026 in the Ikereku area of Laderin, Abeokuta, and contravene Sections 516, 230, 324, and 319 of the Ogun State Criminal Code.
Police Counsel Solomon Babalola moved a motion ex parte, seeking Adesanya’s remand for 60 days pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Magistrate Sam-Obaleye approved the request, ordering the nurse to remain in custody at Ibara Correctional Centre.
