King Mitchy Lagos tax shock as influencer receives N12m notice after claiming high earnings, sparking reactions and online criticism

Brand influencer and entrepreneur Mukoro Ereremena Michelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, has reacted to a Lagos State Internal Revenue Service tax notice demanding an estimated ₦12 million, in a development that has triggered widespread online debate.

The tax shock emerged after the influencer shared details of the tax assessment on her social media page, expressing concern over the financial burden.

King Mitchy, who previously claimed during a public dispute that she earns up to ₦1 million daily from her food business and brand influencing, said the current demand has left her distressed.

In her post, she suggested that her income is largely directed towards charity work and supporting vulnerable individuals, adding that she currently has limited disposable income.

The development has drawn renewed attention due to her earlier public statements on earnings, which have now resurfaced and fuelled online criticism.

King Mitchy Lagos tax shock has also sparked mixed reactions across social media, with some users questioning her earlier income claims, while others argue she is being unfairly targeted.

Several commenters referenced her previous online dispute with media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, which had already placed her in the public spotlight.

Amid the backlash, some social media users advised caution when publicly disclosing financial details, warning that such statements can attract regulatory scrutiny.

The Lagos State Government has not issued an official response beyond the tax documentation shared online by the influencer.
