Billionaire businessman and real estate entrepreneur King Ochacho has revealed that he made his first ₦1 billion at the age of 21 through the charcoal export business.

Ochacho made the disclosure during a livestream conversation with content creator Peller, where he recounted his early entrepreneurial journey and the business that transformed his fortunes.

According to him, he began making money as an agent connecting Nigerian charcoal suppliers with Chinese buyers.

“I made my first one billion naira at age 21 years old,” he said.

Explaining how he achieved the feat, Ochacho said he worked as an intermediary for a company exporting charcoal overseas.

“I was doing a business called charcoal business. I got all these Chinese people and I was an agent to a company to export the coal. So the dividends I got within a period of time for that age was one billion,” he said.

The businessman added that after his success in commerce, he ventured into politics before later stepping away to concentrate on business and his faith.

“Then later I joined politics, then again I left politics to serve God and do my business,” he said.

When asked why he exited politics, Ochacho said his interest had always been good governance rather than partisan rivalry.

“I am not the type of person that is against anybody. What I want is good governance, so if the person in power can give us everything, I am good. My prayer is to pray for whoever is the leader to succeed,” he said.

Responding to another question on whether he had met Nigeria’s top political leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, Ochacho said he had interacted with many prominent figures.

He described Tinubu as one of the finest politicians he had encountered, saying the remark reflected his personal opinion during the livestream conversation.
