Fuji musician KWAM1 withdraws his suit challenging the installation of the next Awujale of Ijebuland after correspondence resolved the matter
Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate (KWAM1), has withdrawn a suit seeking to stop the installation of the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

Ayinde filed a Notice of Discontinuance before the Ogun State High Court in Ijebu-Ode on 22 December 2025, following correspondence from the Chairman of the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area. His legal team asked the court to record the discontinuance and make orders as deemed fit.
The suit had earlier sought an interlocutory injunction to halt the installation process. Justice A. A. Omoniyi of Court 3 in Ijebu-Ode Judicial Division had on Monday refused to grant an ex parte motion for an interim order, citing Supreme Court precedents that such applications must accompany motions on notice.
In his ruling, Justice Omoniyi emphasised that “Where a procedure is laid down for making an order, that’s the only way to get the order. It is fatal to an application for an interim order to not file a motion on notice.”
He also noted the absence of an undertaking as to damages, which is typically required for such cases.
The Notice of Discontinuance, signed by Dr Wahab Shittu SAN on behalf of KWAM1, explained that the suit was filed following correspondence from the second respondent on 2 December 2025, which has now been withdrawn.
“The Applicant respectfully prays that the Honourable Court record the discontinuance of this Suit and make orders as it deems fit,” the notice stated.

The withdrawal ends the musician’s legal challenge against the formal installation process of the new Awujale of Ijebuland, allowing traditional proceedings to continue without obstruction.
