KWASU student Idris Agboluaje dies in Malete crash while rushing to an exam, prompting condolences from university and academic associations
The management of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has confirmed the death of final-year Business Education student, Idris Agboluaje, in a road accident on Wednesday, February 4, in Malete.

The university’s Registrar, Dr Kikelomo Sallee, said Agboluaje was on his way to the campus to write an examination when the accident occurred.
“The management, on behalf of the university community, commiserates with the family and loved ones of the student, who died in an unfortunate road accident,” Dr Sallee stated.
Dr Sallee added that the loss of the student was deeply felt across the KWASU community, describing Agboluaje as a promising young man.
“We pray that God consoles his family, friends, loved ones and the entire KWASU community,” she said.
Initial reports indicate that Agboluaje had been barred from entering the examination hall for failing to present his student identity card.
In an effort to return to the school gate and catch up with the exam, he reportedly drove at high speed and was involved in the fatal crash.
The Association of Business Educators of Nigeria, Kwara State University, Malete Chapter, expressed profound sorrow over the incident.
The association described Agboluaje’s death as a significant loss to the Business Education Department, saying, “Our hearts go out to his parents, family members, friends and classmates during this difficult time.”

The university and academic community continue to mourn the untimely death of the student, while authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
