LASUSTECH announces 2026 State of Origin Verification Exercise for Lagos indigenes applying for admission into the 2026/2027 academic session

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu, has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into the institution.

According to a statement issued by the university, the exercise applies to candidates who selected LASUSTECH as their first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 195, as well as Direct Entry applicants.

The university said registration for the SOVE exercise will begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and close on Friday, June 12, 2026, while the verification interviews are scheduled to hold between Wednesday, June 17 and Friday, June 19, 2026.

Each candidate will be assigned a specific interview date as indicated on their application form.

The institution stressed that participation in the SOVE process does not guarantee admission, noting that it is only a prerequisite for further screening stages.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₦10,000 through the official portal: [https://sove.lasustech.edu.ng](https://sove.lasustech.edu.ng).

LASUSTECH warned that only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible for the exercise and advised applicants to avoid making payments to unofficial accounts or individuals.

It further stated that only candidates who scored 195 and above in the 2026 UTME are qualified to participate.

The university reiterated that successful verification is mandatory before candidates can proceed to the Post-UTME screening stage.
